Like many companies we have incurred significant additional costs as a result of COVID-19 and in light of this we have given careful consideration to the price changes we need to make.

- Royal Mail 24® and Royal Mail 48® Large Letters

Prices can be found in the Business Price Guide.
Price changes from 1 September 2020
Like other delivery companies, we continue to experience steep increases in our overseas delivery costs.
This is largely due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic which has led to extreme shortages in air capacity and subsequent increases in air carrier costs to most countries overseas. We are no longer able to absorb these costs in our existing pricing. In order to manage the impact of these increased costs, which are beyond our control, we regretfully need to adjust our prices accordingly.
From 1 September, we are changing our international prices to reflect these increases in our overseas delivery costs. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.
‘On Account’ and Franking Services
For our 'On Account’ and Franking Services these price changes will come in the form of a straightforward increase on the actual product price.
Parcels, Letters and Large Letter prices are changing for the following ‘On Account’ and Franking services:
- International Tracked & Signed
- International Tracked
- International Signed
- International Standard
- International Economy (parcels only).

Announcing price reductions for our Tracked Service to the USA.
When we increased the prices of our International Parcel Services to USA in July, we stated we would be closely monitoring the cost of conveyance and that we may reduce our prices accordingly in the future. From 1 September 2020 we will be reducing the cost of this service.
International Surcharge
Royal Mail introduced an International surcharge in order to help us respond to the impact of the volatile currency market on key cost areas for our business; fuel, conveyancing and International delivery charges. A flexible International surcharge enables us to keep prices as low as possible while enabling us to react to future currency and fuel related cost changes.
The surcharge increased on 15th November 2019, will remain at 6.5%. However given the current volatility of currency the surcharge is continuously under review and may decrease or increase subject to 14 days notice. To keep up to date on the level of International Surcharge please visit www.royalmail.com/surcharges
2% Discount for customers providing electronic customs data (expiring 1 January 2021)
It has been mandatory to provide electronic customs data for each item (containing anything other than general correspondence) since 1st January 2019.
There is a 2% discount for all packages that comply with the new electronic customs data rules. Visit royalmail.com/electronic-customs-data-incentive to find out more.
Price changes from 1 July 2020
Prices are changing for Royal Mail parcel products to the USA from 1 July 2020
As a result of exceptional cost increases outside of our control, we are reluctantly introducing pricing changes for parcels being sent to the USA from 1 July. We are limiting the increase to only recover the costs we are experiencing.
These costs are a direct result of:
- An increase of more than 100% in the fees the US Postal Service (USPS) charges for the ‘last mile’ delivery of international mail
- Securing air freight at inflated market costs due to a 95% reduction in air passenger flights globally following the outbreak of Covid-19.
At Royal Mail, we always aim to deliver the best value international services for our customers. We fully recognise that these changes are significant. This was a decision we reluctantly took but is necessary in view of the increased costs borne by Royal Mail.
Prices are changing for the following Royal Mail International parcel services to the USA for Personal, ‘On Account’ and Franking customers
- International Tracked & Signed
- International Tracked
- International Standard
From 1 July 2020 we will be increasing the prices of our parcel services to the USA and introducing a new World Zone 3. There are no changes to letter and large letter prices.
