Royal Mail employees chose British Heart Foundation (BHF) as our National Charity Partner from the start of 2023 until the end of 2026.
We are working together to protect heart health and save lives in our communities.
Across the UK employees are fundraising and aiming to raise ÂŁ2 million for BHF. The money raised will support the Community Hearts Programme, which is aiming to:

We launched our partnership with BHF in February 2023. Since then, our people have been running, baking, trekking, quizzing, cycling and much more to raise vital funds for the charity. Read our partnership impact reportpdf, 535.63 KB to see the latest updates on funds raised.

All funds raised by Royal Mail for BHF are being used to deliver the Community Hearts Programme, which has made it possible for:

  • BHF to launch Classroom RevivR, BHF’s free interactive teaching tool, making it easy for students aged 11+ to learn CPR and defibrillation. For full information and how to share details with your local school head to BHF's Classroom RevivR page.
  • More people can access the vital health information they need in a format they need. This now includes booklets in easy read, braille, large print, audio, and most searched webpages in five different languages. To view, download or order these materials head to BHF's Accessible health content.
  • The Heart Helpline to be free to call.  BHF’s experienced cardiac nurses can help with queries and concerns about heart and circulatory diseases, and their risk factors. The freephone number is 0808 802 1234.
  • Community defibrillators placed in areas where they’re most needed, with 140 funded in the first year of the programme. The programme will continue to open annually to applications, with the opportunity for anyone to apply for a funded defibrillator package on behalf of their local community organisation. To find out more head to BHF's defibrillator application page.

Quick CPR and defibrillation is vital to giving someone the best chance of survival after a cardiac arrest. Yet surveys suggest that a third of adults across the country have never undertaken any form of CPR training. That’s why we’re training our employees in CPR. Across the course of our partnership, we’re aiming to train 100,000 employees using BHF’s RevivR tool.
