Grow your business in Germany

Enter the global market by exporting to Germany

We’ve taken the findings of our Delivery Matters Germany report and put together some key information and advice to help you start exporting there.

20% of German online shoppers surveyed had bought from a UK website in a 3 month period – lower than the international average of 36%, but in keeping with the fact that around a third of people there (roughly 27 million people) can speak English. This is obviously still a huge potential market for UK businesses.

Those that did buy British products had spent a healthy average of €163 on UK products in a 3 month period.

Make international returns easy

20% of German shoppers have returned an item bought from a UK site, while 60% say they would be unlikely to shop again following a difficult return experience.

Returning an item to a seller in a different country can be a daunting prospect, and a lot of buyers assume it will be both difficult and expensive. This can put them off shopping with overseas sellers altogether.
