Royal Mail has simple and economical ways for you to send your parcels internationally, covering Tracked, Signed, and Standard (untracked) services. These services provide a range of features to meet your needs.

At a Glance 

  • We aim to deliver to Europe within 2-5 working days and rest of the World within 5-7 working days
  • You can send parcels up to 2kg and for certain European countries 5kg with us
  • Business customers can now send some ‘Dangerous Goods’ to 11 European countries

International Business Tracked

Keep tabs on your parcel with tracking at four points after despatch as well as an online confirmation of delivery, plus signature available to many countries.

International Business Signed

Your item is tracked until it leaves the UK and only handed over at its destination once we have a signature from the recipient (we do not provide a copy of the signature).

For our tracking and signature services, we recommend the recipient's mobile telephone number and/or email address are included on the item to assist in delivery.

International Business Standard

International Standard offers a convenient, reliable and cost-effective delivery service for parcels up to 2kg.

International Tracked Returns

Royal Mail offers Business Tracked Returns services to the USA and Australia. This gives enhanced peace of mind to both you and your customer, providing a transparent returns portal where returns are tracked from sending to delivery.

What can you send?

Parcels

You can send parcels weighing up to 5kg** with a height, width, and depth no greater than 900mm, with no single side longer than 600mm.

Tubes and rolls

You can send tubes or rolls weighing up to 2kg** with a maximum length of 900mm. The length + 2 x diameter combined should not be more than 1040mm.

Dangerous Goods

Business customers can now send some ‘Dangerous Goods’ to Europe. This is only available on International Business Tracked with signature services, and is available to 11 countries (unavailable for exports to Greece). You must attach the PDF icon LQ label (minimum dimensions 10cm x 10cm) and the PDF icon Orientation arrows label to your package if applicable.

What can’t you send?

There are some items we can’t carry in overseas post for legal or health and safety reasons, and others that have some restrictions.

Choose a sorting option

International Standard offers many choices for presenting your parcels: from simply handing over a bag of unsorted items and letting us do everything else, to sorting your parcels by destination for our most competitive rates. You enjoy total flexibility, and money saving opportunities too.

Entry level

To qualify to use International Business Tracked International Business Signed, and International Tracked Returns you must either:

Spend a minimum of £5,000 each year across the International Business Services portfolio or send a minimum of 1,000 items per year across any combination of Royal Mail Tracked 24, Royal Mail Tracked 48, Royal Mail Tracked Returns, International Business Tracked, International Business Signed and International Tracked Returns.

To qualify to access the International Business Standard option you will need to spend more than £5,000 (or £10,000 for Max Sort) per annum across the International Business Services portfolio.

How much will it cost?

Is there compensation for loss or damage?

For our Tracked services we provide compensation up to £100 as standard. We also offer the option of extra compensation up to £300 to protect valuable items against loss or damage. For International Signed the standard level of compensation is £50 with the option of extra compensation up to £250.

Whilst we offer compensation for loss or damage, we don’t compensate for delays. Learn more about compensation for loss or damage.

Calls may be recorded and monitored for training and compliance purposes. Calls cost 5p per minute plus your telephone company's network access charge.
