Price changes from 2 January 2024

  • International Tracked services (country-priced):  We are reducing or holding Tracked prices* across most countries, with a few exceptions

  • We are introducing a standard rate card for International Tracked Heavier (parcels up to 30kg, on product codes HVB/E/K/L) – please see the International Business Parcels rate card below

  • We are also introducing a new Letterboxable Parcels product for items with dimensions less than 353 x 250 x 30 mm, which are at a lower cost than Tracked/untracked parcels for a selection of European destinations**

  • Untracked International Business Products (country-priced): We are generally increasing prices to reflect higher delivery costs – please consult the Price Guides for more detail on these changes
    • Please note that Business Tracked (MP7) is now the most cost-effective way to send parcels to USA

  • We are introducing Volume-Related Discounts (VRDs) on the untracked, country-priced services (both letters and parcels), dependent on the number of international items posted per site per order. These discounts will be automatically applied to your invoiced price

  • Zonal-priced international services (Tracked, untracked and Response): We will be increasing all zonal product prices by 10-20%

  • Please consult the Price Guides for more details on these changes

* Prices either reduced or held based on each destination’s average item weight (from RM volumes)

** Lower parcel prices can be obtained using the letterboxable products (untracked BXB and Tracked BXF) into the following destinations: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany (untracked only), Gibraltar, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

Following increased air carrier costs, we are re-introducing an Air Carrier Supplement for Israel.

Please visit royalmail.com/aircarriersupplements for the current air carrier supplement prices.

From 2 January 2024, a default postcode option (XY99 1AA) is being added to the Mailmark barcode to make it easier to use Mailmark.

Currently to use the Mailmark barcode, the postcode of the recipient address must be added into the barcode. Where a postcode cannot be identified, the postcode can be populated with a default postcode (XYPP 1AA) or blank spaces.

For each mailing, Royal Mail checks that each item includes an accurate postcode in the barcode and eManifest. Royal Mail operates a 10% tolerance for postcode accuracy, meaning no charges will be raised for the first 10% of mailing items that don’t include an accurate postcode.

The use of blank spaces in the barcode, an incorrect geographic postcode, an XY99 1AA Default Postcode and/ or any other characters used that don’t correctly match to the PAF postcode will all count towards the 10% tolerance.

If more than 10% of items don’t include an accurate postcode Royal Mail may raise a charge as follows:

  • Where XY99 1AA is used = a Default Postcode supplementary service charge applies.
  • Where blank spaces are used or an inaccurate postcode = a Postcode Accuracy adjustment charge applies.
