Getting started
Guiding you through your Keepsafe™ application
1. Apply as soon as possible; we need five working days notice to set up your Keepsafe™. If possible let us know as soon as you know you’re going away.
2. Make sure you’re applying for the right service. If you’re a business, charity, school or a sole trader, find out about our Business Keepsafe™ service.
3. Print, complete and return the Keepsafe™ application form.or

4. When you complete the application read the terms and conditions carefully. Make sure you add the names and signatures of everyone who is using the services. If you’re a parent or guardian, you must sign for any children under 16.
5. We won’t hold mail for anyone whose name is not specified on the application form, or any mail without a name, for example, ‘To the Occupier’, unless you specify on the application form that the service should cover ‘all individuals who receive mail at this address’. If not specified these items will be delivered as normal.
6. Tell us when you want the service to end. We will deliver your mail on the first available delivery day after your requested end date. -

I’m back home earlier than expected, can I go into my local delivery office and pick up my mail?
No, our Delivery Office personnel are not allowed to hand over your Keepsafe™ mail. This is for the security and protection of your mail. To receive your mail you will need to cancel your Keepsafe™. To do this call us on 08457 777 888 or, textphone 0845 600 0606. If you're calling from outside the UK, call +44 1782 668 007. Alternatively, please let our Keepsafe™ team know in writing.

What if I receive mail that needs a signature while I’m away?
If you’re not home when we deliver, we’ll leave a ‘Something For You’ card as we normally do. However, if you’re away for more than eighteen days after the signature was due, we will need to return the item to the sender. For more details read our Keepsafe™ terms and conditions.

Is there anything you won’t keep for me?
Yes, if we can see an item contains something perishable, e.g., flowers, we will either return it to the sender immediately or dispose of it at our discretion. For more details see our Keepsafe™ terms and conditions.

I’ve got a Redirection in place, how is this affected?
If your Keepsafe™ is for your new address then all your redirected mail from your old address will be held along with mail addressed to your new address at your new local delivery office.

I run my business from home, which service do I apply for, Business or Personal?
To hold your business mail you need to apply for a Business Keepsafe™. We will include the holding of your personal mail in with the fee. This includes sole traders. We will also include other members of the household wishing to hold their mail too.
