Sending a Small Parcel, Medium Parcel, Letter or Large Letter?
Prices for 2nd Class are the same no matter where you're sending in the UK. The amount you pay depends on the size and weight of the item you're sending. Each format has its own size and weight limits.

Parcels that do not exceed 16cm in length and 16cm in width and 16cm in depth can be sent as small parcels, provided the weight does not exceed 2kg. Visit our shop to buy boxes this size.
Rolled and cylinder shaped parcels
For rolled and cylinder shaped items, the length of the item plus twice the diameter must not exceed 104cm, with the greatest dimension being no more than 90cm.
Rolled and cylinder shaped parcels that measure up to 45cm in length and 8cm in diameter and do not exceed 2kg can be sent as small parcels.

What happens if my item doesn’t arrive?
We want your mail to arrive on time and in perfect condition, but sometimes problems can happen. If an item of mail you have posted with us is lost, damaged or delayed and you have met the conditions of posting, you may be eligible for compensation.Back to top

For your 2nd Class parcels you’re protected with up to £20 worth of compensation as cover for both loss and damage. Compensation for valuables, such as money and jewellery, is not available on this service.Back to top
I’m posting a valuable item. Should I be using 2nd Class mail?
2nd Class is not appropriate for sending valuable items through the post. All valuable items, especially money and jewellery, must be sent using our Special Delivery Guaranteed™ product.Back to top
What are the maximum size and weight limits for a 2nd Class item?
The maximum dimensions for rectangular items is 61cm x 46cm x 46cm.
The maximum length for rolled or cylindrical items is 45cm with a diameter of 8cm and must not exceed 2kg in weight.Back to top
