Mailsort® 1400


Mailsort® 1400 helps you make significant savings on standard postal rates, and gives you the flexibility to move between different services depending on speed or budget requirements. Customers get a free Mailsort® User Guide and sortation database.

You sort your mail

Mailsort® 1400 is based upon you organising your large mailings into specific groups, all with correct addresses, so that when we collect it we can move it to its destination quickly. By using computer software to sort the mail as it is being produced, this saves us time when we collect it, so we can offer you discounts for the time you save us.

What you can send

You will need to send a minimum of 4,000 Letter-sized items, (or 2,000 Letters if they are all being sent within the same postcode area in which they are posted) or 1,000 Large Letters, A3 Packets or Packets in any single Mailsort® 1400 mailing.

Mailsort® 1400 is a cost-effective choice for your business if you:

  • Want the flexibility to choose when your items are delivered
  • Want to earn greater discounts by carrying out some advanced preparation
  • Send large volumes of any sized mail in the UK
  • Can sort your mail into selections based on our UK delivery offices (full details can be obtained from the Mailsort® Database)
  • Mail at least 4,000 Letters (2,000 if the entire mailing is within the same postcode area in which the posting is made) or 1,000 Large Letters, A3 Packets and Packets in a single posting.

Formats accepted on the Mailsort service

Letter format image. Maximum length 240mm. Maximum width 165mm. Maximum thickness 5mm. Maximum weight 100g. For example most letters, bills and statements, some brochures and catalogues
  

Large letter format image. Maximum length 353mm. Maximum width 250mm. Maximum thickness 25mm. Maximum weight 750g. For example A4 envelopes, most brochures, catalogues and company reports, some magazines
  

A3 Packet format image. Maximum length 420mm. Maximum width 297mm. Maximum thickness 25mm. Maximum weight 750g. For example A3 size magazines and oversized direct mail items
  

Anything bigger than an A3 Packet. Minimum length 420mm (maximum 610mm). Minimum width 297mm (460mm maximum). Minimum thickness 25mm (460mm maximum). Maximum weight 750g (2kg maximum). For tubular and cylindrical packages the maximum length is 900mm. In addition the item’s length when added to twice the diameter must not exceed 1,040mm. For example VHS cassettes, books, parts and samples, prints and posters in cylindrical packaging
