Cheaper, simpler, better

Response Plus gives you more

Overview

Royal Mail’s response services provide a quick and easy way for your customers to reply to your communications. We’ve recently launched ‘Response Plus’ – which is undoubtedly our best response service ever. Because the replies are sorted by machine and not by hand, they can be processed sooner and at a lower cost - making it a cheaper and more efficient option than our Standard Business Reply and Freepost services.

Key features

  • Pre-paid reply envelopes or cards available as 1st or 2nd Class postage
  • No unique barcode needed - so response devices are easier for you to design
  • Responses are sorted by machine rather than by hand - so they can be processed more quickly
  • No manual handling charge so responses are cheaper per item than any of our other licence services

Product instructions

You will be issued with a Licence Number which you must always correctly position on your pre-paid reply envelopes and cards.

You can personalise your pre-paid reply envelopes and cards with your own brandmarks and logos, but you must follow our design guidelines. You can view these guidelines and download the templates here. Although not essential, for your peace of mind we will be more than happy to check your designs to ensure that they meet with approval.

If you are an existing Business Reply or Freepost customer, we have a simple to use tool to help you create your Freepost and Business Reply stationery artwork. In just six easy steps you can create the artwork your printer needs to print your stationery.

If you are switching from our Standard Business Reply or Standard Freepost Services to Response Plus, your design will hardly change. It will just be a question of adding your new Licence Number to the top left hand corner for Standard Business Reply or within the address block for Standard Freepost, replacing the old indicia with the new one and removing the barcode – if you used one previously. You will also be able to make use of your everyday Postcode instead of a different one for your responses.

We will send you regular statement bills to help you keep track of your costs. This can be done through automated billing, which will provide you with a high-level summary of response item numbers.

Pricing

To use the Response Plus service, you must pay for a yearly Licence at £70.55 and make a deposit for your expected responses of £41.50 (both of these are per address). If you have more than ten licences, you can enjoy a discount from your eleventh licence onwards, and pay just £36.50 per licence.

You can use either First or Second Class and you pay only for the replies you receive. A single price is charged on all items up to 100g. However, there is a 20p surcharge for any items returned which do not conform to our simple design specifications.
