Royal Mail Sameday



 
  1. How do I track my parcel?
    When you set up an account, or request a Royal Mail Sameday collection, we’ll provide you with a unique username and password. You can use this to login and track your item on our website.

    We’ll also send you an email when your item is delivered and will be able to provide you with the signature of the person who accepted your item. See our terms and conditions for more information.

  2. What happens if no one is available to sign for the item?
    If we are unable to deliver your item for any reason, we will contact you immediately to find out which of the following you would prefer us to do:
    • Deliver the item to a neighbour and leave a card to let the recipient know
    • Post the item (if small enough) through the recipient’s letterbox. In this instance, we would be unable to obtain a signature, and therefore compensation for any resulting loss or damage would not be payable
    • Return the item to you

  3. Is there anything I can’t send with Royal Mail Sameday?
    There are very few restrictions on what we are able to deliver. However, if you’re sending valuable items such as money, jewellery or antiques, we suggest you use a more specialised security service such as Special Delivery™ 9.00am

    We are unable to carry items covered under our standard Prohibited, Dangerous and Restricted Goods conditions

  4. Can I claim compensation for lost or damaged items?
    All items sent via Royal Mail Sameday are automatically eligible for compensation up to the value of £2,500 for any loss or damage, plus the fee you paid for the service. You can extend your compensation up to £20,000 for an additional fee, at the time of booking. Please note that this cover is for loss or damage to the item sent only and does not cover consequential loss. If you wish to make a claim, please call us on 0845 850 5522.

  5. Is there anywhere you can’t deliver to?
    We don’t offer the Royal Mail Sameday service to The Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands.

    There are also a small number of postcodes that are subject to availability when you use the Royal Mail Sameday service. These are: ZE, IV, KW, HS, IM, TR, JE, GY and AB (apart from AB1-4, which we can deliver to), PO30-41, PA and PH.
