No service since October 1991.
Tanzania Start Date: 14th March End Date: Ongoing
The port of Dar Es Salaam is experiencing difficulties with extreme congestion and slow operations. The port has stopped acceptance of mail for all Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar destined volumes for the immediate future. All Economy mail is affected.
Kenya Start Date: 30th October End Date: Ongoing
The road to lamu has been cut off due to heavy rains at Kanagoni. Mail movement will therefore be affected to Lamu districts and parts of Tana delta.

Phillipines Start Date: 2nd October End Date: Ongoing
Since 2nd October, 27 provinces have been affected by typhoon Pepeng. Roads and bridges in these provinces, have been rendered impassable for vehicular traffic. The transport of all classes of inbound international mails may be routed or temporarily discontinued until the main network of roads in these areas is passable.
Indonesia Start Date: 6th October End Date: Ongoing
Following the earthquakes in Indonesia, some postal infrastructures suffered serious damage in certain areas causing delays to mail deliveries.

Australasia
Samoa Start Date: 19th October End Date: Ongoing
In the areas recently affected by the tsunami, 3 sub post offices with a total of 6 posting boxes in tourist areas were totally destroyed. In the long term, it is planned to relocate the affected villages further inland to prevent future disasters. EMergency delivery centres have been set up to ensure the mail deliveries to these areas are able to continue as normal.

Georgia (Abkhazia and Ossetia regions only) Start Date: 12th Jul 05 End Date: Ongoing
Due to the local security and political situation, only International Signed For mail can be sent to the Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions of Georgia until further notice. Normal mail service is available. Europe Italy 07/04/09 TBC Due to a major earthquake in Abruzzo (centre of Italy), delivery and collection activities will be affected. In particular the city of L’Aquila which has postcodes covering the range 67000 – 67999.
Turkey Start Date: 15/09/09 End Date: 06/11/09
Mail services are now returning to normal since the severe floods in Turkey.
Belgium Start date: 29/09/09 Ongoing : 05/10/09
Industrial action in various areas in Belgium ceased and mail services have returned to normal.

Some postal employees of the Brazil postal operator were on strike from 16/09/09 to 29/09/09. There were delays in the delivery of EMS, Priority and SAL mail sent to Brazil

The postal service to Iraq is restricted to personal correspondence by the airmail letter service only. There are no International Signed For, Surface or Contract (sorted/unsorted) Services.
Israel Start Date: 13/01/09 End Date:06/03/09
Transfer of mail into the Gaza Strip was temporarily suspended. Delivery of mail in Southern Israel has been subject to delays. Normal service has now resumed.
