What's it all about? Introducing our apprenticeship scheme.

Our Apprenticeship Scheme will give you the opportunity to:

  • Successfully obtain a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Mail Services
  • Gain a broad understanding of Royal Mail operations through formal development and, more importantly, from doing the job!
  •  Take part in projects and activities to support sponsored business charities
  •  Have some fun!

How long does it last?

The Apprenticeship Scheme lasts for 18 months - during this time you should complete your NVQ. Once the NVQ has been successfully signed off by the awarding body and the 18 month Scheme completed, the following 6 months will allow training opportunities for individuals wishing to progress into management.

What will I be doing?

In your daily work you’ll have the opportunity to find out all about Royal Mail’s operations - from collecting and processing the mail, through to actually delivering it. You’ll see at first hand how a national company works, and understand our business from the ground up.  And because your NVQ will cover all aspects of mail service operation, as well as health and safety, customer service, IT and business knowledge, you’ll find limitless career opportunities at Royal Mail when you graduate.

But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what those involved have to say about the Scheme:
