Getting started
Once we have received your completed application form, we will write to you confirming your Early Collect™ start date. If your requested collection time is not available, we will advise you of alternative collection times. Please allow 21 days for the service to be set up.

Choosing a time
Early Collect™ gives you the option to collect all the available mail for your address, direct from your local Delivery Office. Simply specify your preferred time (between 6.00am and 8.30am) and, if your requested collection time is available, we inform you of the next available collection time. Royal Mail guarantees to have your 'available' mail ready to collect at the same time every day from Monday to Friday, or Monday to Saturday, depending on your requirements.
Delivery Options
Early Collect™ only allows for the collection of 'available mail'. Available mail refers to mail that has been processed, sorted and grouped for your address at the requested Collection time. On your application, you can specify whether you would like any mail sorted after this the pre-arranged time to be held at the Delivery Office for early collection the following day, or delivered with your normal daily delivery.
Early Collect™ is offered subject to availability.

Do I have to collect available mail at the same time every day?
Yes. You need to collect your available mail at the pre-arranged time each day from Monday to Saturday, or Monday to Friday.
If you don’t collect your mail at the pre-arranged time, it will be retained for collection the following day or delivered with the standard delivery, depending on the option you specified on your application form

What happens to mail sorted after the pre-arranged time?
As agreed on the application form, mail sorted after the pre-arranged collection time is either delivered with the normal daily delivery or retained for early collection on the following working day.

What if mail isn’t available for collection at the pre-arranged time?
The Early Collect™ service only applies to ‘available mail’. Available mail is mail that has already been sorted and aggregated at the specified collection time. The volume of available mail may fluctuate daily and it is possible that no mail will be available for collection.

How can I cancel or change the service?
You need to give us at least 30 days' notice if you wish to cancel your Early Collect™ service. To change any of the service specifications (e.g. the address or collection time), you will need to cancel the current service and submit a new application form with the correct, amended details.

Can I collect mail before 6.00am?
Mail cannot be collected from the Delivery Office before 6.00am using the Early Collect™ service.

Is there a minimum amount of mail required to qualify for Early Collect™?
No, because the volume of available mail for early collection may fluctuate from day to day. You will be able to collect all available mail, regardless of quantity, at the pre-arranged time. The same monthly or annual fee applies, regardless of how much mail is available on any given day.
