  4. Can I download the images? And if so what format do you produce these in?
Contact your Royal Mail sales advisor or account team and they will send you the images. The images are for design purposes and require software similar to Adobe Acrobat, which handles postscript files (.ps) and can be used to add your return address details. Alternatively there are PDF files for easy downloading and printing.

  5. My customer says he has returned an item to me but I have not received it. What can I do?
The customer returning the item will need to provide you with their proof of posting – with this you should then contact Royal Mail Customer Services on 08457 950 950 who will be able to deal with your enquiry.

  6. Can customers post items through a pillar-box or do they have to use the Post Office™?
We recommend that all items are returned via the Post Office™, as all items will receive a proof of posting (which helps cover against fraud). Obviously, if posted in a pillar-box it will be returned to you, but you should be aware of the element of risk associated with having no proof of posting.

  7. Can Packetpost™ Returns be used in conjunction with a PO Box®?
Yes, a PO Box® may also prove helpful where you do not want to disclose certain elements of the return address or if you want to take advantage of the secure collection environment that the Royal Mail Delivery Office provides.

  8. Can Packetpost™ Returns be used returning goods to and from Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man?
You can only have items returned from these islands. You cannot have a return address on these islands – if you want your goods returned to an address on these islands you will need to set up a service with the local postal administrator.

  9. If I move or change address, do I need a new contract or licence number?
No, but you will need to provide new address labels and addresses in advance and you may also need to set up a Redirection (to cover any old labels being used and items sent to the old address).
