  1. What is Keepsafe™ and Business Keepsafe™?

    If you're going away and don't want your mail piling up, we'll keep it safe for you for up to two months. Domestic customers should use our Keepsafe™ service. Companies, sole traders and schools should use our Business Keepsafe™ service.

  2. How do I apply for Keepsafe or Business Keepsafe?

    Apply for Keepsafe and Business Keepsafe by phoning 0845 7777 888 and pay by Visa or MasterCard. Or for Keepsafe just get an application form from your nearest Post Office®, fill it in and send it to the address given here:

  3. How quickly can I set it up?

    We can set up Keepsafe within five working days.
     

    Keepsafe
    Please give names and signatures for everyone whose mail you want kept. If you're a parent or guardian, you must sign for any children under 16. We will not hold mail for anyone whose name is not specified on the application form, or mail without a name (for example, 'To the Occupier') unless you specify on the application form that the service should cover 'all individuals who receive mail at this address'.
     

    Business Keepsafe
    Please tell us the name of your organisation - including any variations or abbreviations. You also need to select two company representatives to sign the application form.

  4. Can businesses use this service?

    We offer the Business Keepsafe service specifically for businesses.

  5. What happens to mail that needs a signature?

    We will keep Recorded items and Special Delivery items for 18 days and then return to sender (if a return address is on the item). We will leave a 'Something for you' card with the Keepsafe mail to let you know.

  6. Can I pick up mail from my local sorting office when I get back?

    No. But you don't have to arrange to have your mail forwarded to you either. Just tell us when you want the service to end and we'll deliver to your address on that date. If you return early from your trip, you must send a written cancellation note. Your mail will then arrive with the next available delivery.

  7. How long can I use the Keepsafe service?

    For up to two months. If you are moving business or home permanently or temporarily, try our redirections service.

  8. How quickly will I get my mail when I return?

    Just tell us the date when you would like your mail delivered, and we'll send it with the next available delivery.

  9. What happens if something goes wrong?

    If the incident has happened within the last month, see if you can claim compensation.
