Addressing envelopes the right way
Overview
When you send business mail, the envelope is the first point of contact with your customer, and it sets the standard for its contents. Your envelope layout also affects how accurately and quickly we can process your mail.
To this end, we’ve developed a guide to addressing your envelopes which is available to download from our Document Library. With detailed layout diagrams for the most commonly used DL and C5 sized paper-based envelopes, the guide provides you with information and advice on a number of important elements, including:
- Envelope layout
- Mailpiece specification
- Window envelopes
- Addressing
- Clear zones
The guide also provides help and direction on the types of envelopes to use, from maximum and minimum sizes to window opacity and water absorbency.
We have also developed a guide to addressing and preparing Large Letter mail which is available to download from our Document Library. Large Letter mail is defined as mail which is between C5 and B4 in size, which is more than 5mm but less than 15mm thick.
